xxiii, 159 pp. [1] [1904] 3 colour plates and 16 sepia plates. Fully bound in leather with marbled endpapers, TEG, a silk marker ribbon, in slipcase. This is # 118 of 950 copies New Introduction by J. David Zincavage Salmon-Fishing on the Grand Cascapedia by the American angler Edmund W. Davis was originally produced for private distribution in two fine printings of one hundred copies each by the celebrated De Vinne Press of New York in 1904. The result was both a rarity of American angling literature and a highly collectable specimen of the art of book making. The twenty-seven chapters are interspersed with sixteen fine sepia photographs and three pages of beautiful flies in colour dressed by Forrest and Son of Kelso, Scotland. Angling scholar, J. David Zincavage, provides information previously unavailable on Davis's family background, education, and mysterious death in a shooting accident in 1908.
